After breakfast proceed for a sightseeing tour of Kathmandu City. Here one can find distinctive pagoda-roofed temples, stone sculptures, and old monasteries and historic monuments. You may also visit the temple of the Living Goddess, who acknowledges the greetings of devotees from the balcony of the temple residence, Kasthamandap – also the source of the name Kathmandu and made from the timber of a single tree. You will also see Durbar Square with its array of temples overlooked by the Hanuman Dhoka Palace, the ancient palace of former Nepalese Royalty. Then there is Swayambhunath, located approximately 4 km from the square, the Buddhist stupa here is said to be more than 2000 years old, making it one of the world’s oldest and most glorious Buddhist chaityas. The Chaitya (stupa) which forms the main structure is composed of a solid hemisphere of brick and earth supporting a lofty conical spire capped by a pinnacle of gilt copper. In the afternoon, proceed for a sightseeing tour of Pashupatinath: situated approx. 4 km east of Kathmandu city, it is the holiest of all the Shiva shrines in Nepal and is the abode of Lord Pashupatinath, the guardian spirit of Nepal (The temple is strictly forbidden to all non Hindus). Situated approx. 8 km east of the Kathmandu city, there is also Boudhanath, which is a colossal stupa, one of the biggest in the world of its kind. This morning after a leisurely breakfast you will be driven to Pokhara. Arrive and check in at the hotel. Pokhara’s bewitching beauty has been the subject of many travel writers. Its pristine air, spectacular backdrop of snowy peaks, serene lakes and surrounding greenery make it ‘the jewel in the Himalayas’, a place of remarkable natural beauty. With the magnificent Annapurna range forming the backdrop and the serenity of three major lakes – Phewa, Rupa and Begnas – Pokhara is the ultimate destination for relaxation. There is also the Pokhara Valley, a gateway to the Annapurna region where many a trekker finds his Shangri-la, which sits high on the list of ‘must visit’ places in Nepal. This day proceed for a guided tour of Pokhara visiting the Seti Gorge which is of remarkable natural beauty in the exotic valley of Pokhara. There is also the Seti River whose name means White Water River. It silently flows in the center part of Pokhara. The silver coloured river made the wonderful Gorge, which is called Seti Gorge. Seti Gorge is unique and will be wonderful to watch. It flows through the deep rifts of the Conglomerate Mountains. Seti River flows almost 40-50 meters down the rifts. Devi's Fall, is locally known as the Patale Chhango (Hell's fall). This fall is a lovely waterfall lying near Pokhra. Legend has it that a trekker was washed away by the Pardi Khola and mysteriously disappeared down into an underground passage beneath the fall. Later, visit the Gupteswar Gupha a sacred cave which lies 2 km from Pokhara airport on the Siddhartha Highway leading southwest from the city. The entrance is right across from Devi's fall and the cave is almost 3 km long. It has some big hall-sized rooms and some passages where you have to crawl on all fours. Also visit Barahi Temple, the most important religious monument in Pokhara. Built almost in the middle of Phewa Lake, the two storied pagoda is dedicated to the boar manifestation of Ajima, the protector’s deity representing the female force Shakti. Further to this, continue your visit to the Bindbyabasini Temple which is of great religious importance to Hindus living in the Pokhara region. It is a vital hub of religious fervor. The temple itself is dedicated to the Hindu goddess Durga, who is Pokhara's chosen guardian deity. Durga, also known as Shakti or Kali and has numerous manifestations. At the Bindabasini Temple, she is seen as Bhagwati, a blood-thirsty aspect of the goddess. The Phewa Lake, the second largest lake in the Kingdom, is the center of all attraction in Pokhara. It is the largest and most enchanting of the three lakes that add to the resplendence of Pokhara. Here, one can sail or row a hired boat across the water or visit the island temple in its center. Morning and Afternoon Safari visits to The Royal Chitwan National Park with a Naturalist. The Royal Chitwan National Park was once the hunting ground of the British and Nepalese aristocrats. The Royal Chitwan National Park also stands today as a successful testimony of nature conservation in South Asia. This is the first National Park of Nepal established in 1973 to preserve a unique eco system significantly valuable to the whole world. The Park covering the protected area of 932 Sq. Km. is situated in the subtropical inner Terai lowlands of the Southern Central part of Nepal. The Park gained much wider recognition in the world when UNESCO included this area on the list of World Heritage Sites in 1984. It should also be emphasised that only a very small part of the national park is used for tourism. The great majority of the land, particularly in the hills, remains unvisited and therefore undisturbed. Today, the animals - elephants, rhinoceros', tigers, leopards and deer - are protected, not shot. The greatest thrill here is to scout for wildlife on the back of an elephant. After breakfast proceed for a half day tour of Bhaktapur city. A former capital of the valley, it was once a flourishing city on the trade route to Tibet. It has preserved its traditional character better than the other two cities, due to its more isolated location. It is regarded today as a classic showcase of medieval Nepalese town life. It is situated in the east of Kathmandu valley about 14 km. away. It today retains much of its beauty in ornate woodcarvings and in the famed Golden Gate. The city is famous for its traditional pottery, cloth weaving, wood carving and handicraft production. In the afternoon proceed for a sightseeing tour of Patan city, 5 km away from Kathmandu city. The ancient name of Patan is Lalitpur, meaning city of beauty and fine arts. It is enclosed within 4 stupas said to be built in the 3rd century AD, by Emperor Ashoka. You will see the Durbar Square, the Patan Durbar which houses a bronze collection, the Krishna Temple built by King Siddhi Narsingh Malla, and Hiranya Varna Mahavihar. The city is believed to have been built during the reign of Vira Dev in A.D. 299. Stay Overnight at the Hotel.
